Please read and abide by these rules. It won’t kill you. I’m sorry they’re kind of long, although it takes less time to get through them than it looks, but you have to read all of them. Just get it out of the way before I confront you later.[/b]OOC
Out of Character Rules
1. Be kind and respectful to the other members. It’s a simple basic.
2. Stay active. Try to logon at least a couple times every week. If there’s a reason you can’t do that, we’ll understand as long as you post in the Going Away board. You won’t be deleted at any time unless you don’t reply to an activity check and you never posted an away message. Activity checks happen at random times in the Announcements board to test the responsibility and, obviously, the activity of all the members. (If you can’t get on the site to post an away message, email Amaranth at xMissmurdercani@gmail.com.)
3. Only one account per member. You can have multiple characters on one account, so you don’t need more than one.
4. No fighting anywhere other members can see it. Take it to the PMs. But if you and another member are having problems in the first place, you should contact Amaranth so she can help you sort it out.
5. Keep swearing to a definite minimum. You can do it occasionally, since Dominance is a semi-literate site and hopefully all the members are at least mature enough to handle cussing, but only mild swear words are allowed. If you’re uncomfortable with this, go to your profile and click “Modify Personal Censored Words” to edit which swears you can and can’t see.
6. Don’t talk in chatspeak. Dominance is an intermediate forum, so type out your full words. (Common chatspeak such as LOL, BRB, ROFL, etc. is okay. When I say no chatspeak, I mean dnt talk lyk th1s.)
7. Racist, sexist, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate posts aren’t allowed on Dominance.
8. Show respect to staff – they’re staff members for a reason – and try your best to listen to them.
9. Don’t double-post (or more-than-double-post). That means posting more than once in a row in the same thread. There’s a perfectly good “Modify” button at the top of all your posts.
10. No sexual content of ANY kind! If you break this rule, it’ll result in an immediate and permanent ban.
11. Never give out or accept personal information. If someone’s trying to get personal info from you or asking questions that make you uncomfortable, alert Amaranth right away and it’ll be taken care of.
12. No spam! Spam = Stupid, Pointless, Annoying Messages. Stick to the subject, and if there’s no reason to post OOC, don’t. The cbox is no exception. Note: If you see a post with a bunch of strange symbols, don’t click any links in it. They’ll most likely mess up your computer.
13. Try to use correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Typos are understandable, but don’t make a habit of it. Proofread all your posts. Dominance is only semi-literate, so you won’t be expected to have flawless posts, but you will be expected to use effortful, legitimate writing. If you’re too tired to do this for us, then don’t post until you can follow this rule.
14. If you see anyone breaking the rules, please inform Amaranth. Don’t attempt to handle it yourself. There are staff members for a reason, so please don’t try to do our jobs for us. However, if a member double-posts, powerplays, or godmodes, go ahead and remind them of the rules.IC
In Character Rules
1. You cannot start roleplaying with a character until Amaranth or a global moderator says it’s accepted.
2. You can have up to ten characters, and ONE high position (alpha or beta). You must actively roleplay all of them. If we notice that a character’s become inactive, it’ll be put up for adoption.
3. Please put all your characters in your signature – it can be as simple as their names and packs – but make sure that your siggy doesn’t end up stretching the page. If it does, you’ll be told to shorten it.
4. Don’t create bios for wolves or dogs that are already dead. Your character has to live for at least four real-life weeks before it can die. After that, you can only roleplay the charrie in boards under the Afterlife category.
5. No powerplaying or godmoding. Don’t know what they mean? PM Amaranth.
6. If you don’t want a character anymore, you can get rid of it by doing one of these three: 1. PMing Amaranth and asking her to put it up for adoption. 2. Killing it off. 3. Plain old deleting it as if it never existed. (This means PMing Amaranth and asking her to move its bio to the Graveyard board.)
7. Characters aren’t allowed to have unusual markings or scars, strange colors (including eyes), an unlikely deformity, etc. We’ll let you know if your charrie is a little too extravagant.
8. All your IC posts have to be at least 100 words. That may seem like a lot, but it’s really only about a paragraph or less. If you’re roleplaying a pup, the minimum of words is 90.
9. Dominance runs on liquid time, meaning a character can be in more than one thread at once. But don’t put them in too many at the same time, or it gets confusing. The password to the Character Creation board is halfmoon.
10. You’re allowed to trespass on territory that isn’t yours, but remember that trespassers are usually attacked, and it’ll result in an IC punishment if the character belongs to a pack.
11. Don’t use abbreviations (slvr wolf) or asterisks (*) IC. Example: *slvr wolf walks into woods*
12. Your character can’t get prophecies from the spirit wolves or be “the one who will save us all.” (If you’re an alpha, you can only receive prophecies when it’s needed or if you have Amaranth’s permission.)
13. Please use Spell Check or Microsoft Word before submitting an IC post. It really helps – but remember not to believe Spell Check when it says that “leapt” isn’t a word, or that words with two “P”s, such as “worshipped,” are wrong.
14. No swearing IC. Wolves and dogs don’t know cuss words. They use their own terms, such as fox-faced. (For a full list of terms, see the Additional Information board.)
15. To talk OOC during a roleplay, put it in brackets – (( ))[[ ]] – or use “OOC: Text.” For instance, what I do is this: [[Text.]] The brackets enclose the OOC text, setting it apart from the roleplay.
Mates & Offspring
Having Mates and Pups Rules
Having Mates and Pups Rules
If you decide to have pups with your mate, PM Amaranth, and include which ones you and your mate’s player want as your own characters (you can each have one). Amaranth will then post in the Offspring board with the pups’ genders and appearances that she chooses (the mother chooses the names by replying to the thread telling Amaranth what she wants them to be). You can roleplay the female being pregnant for a week (unless you decide to make it longer, in which case you should PM Amaranth again), and then the pups will have been born. A mass PM will be sent out to announce their birth, and members can then start adopting them. The pups’ thread in the Offspring board will be updated with the names of the players that are now roleplaying the pups – apart from the ones the parents already claimed. Once all the pups have been adopted, their players will need to create bios for them, no history included, where the pups will be five weeks old and they can add on any details they want to its appearance (this doesn’t mean they can change the pup’s current appearance) and write an original personality. Once the bios have been accepted, the pups will be ready to roleplay. (The mother can use them in roleplays until they’ve been adopted, but they won’t be able to talk, see, or walk.)
---------
1. You can’t make a bio for a pregnant she-wolf. The female needs to be created, get a mate, and then have the other player agree to have pups.
2. Do NOT write out mating! No one wants to see that, and it’ll be considered a violation (no pun intended. *shot*) of our “no sexuality” rule. The birth can be roleplayed, of course, but not graphically.
3. In order to get a mate, you have to, first, ask the permission of the other player. It doesn’t matter if you pick a mate from the Allegiances and PM the member or have a wild idea while roleplaying with them; just get their permission before doing anything else. If they say yes, you can roleplay the two characters spending time together. They can’t fall in love in the same thread, so be patient. When both players are ready, create or join another thread, and in this one, your charries can fall in love. After you’ve acquired a mate, it’s not necessary to have pups, but you can if you both want to.
Other Information
Anything Else Worth Mentioning
Anything Else Worth Mentioning
Fighting[/b]
You can attempt to wound the opponent only twice in one post, and you can only dodge two attacks in a row. As for starting fights: if an alpha wants land that belongs to another pack, if wolves and/or dogs have been stealing prey from your pack, etc., the alpha may feel the need to launch an attack on them. If so, then the alpha’s player must PM Amaranth for permission. If you get past that stage, she’ll then send out a mass PM, as well as a separate one to the alpha of the other pack, to announce the battle. When it starts, Amaranth will judge the fight by reading the posts, and declare it over at any time. After that, you can’t roleplay the fighting anymore, and another mass will be sent out to announce the winner. If your pack was fighting for territory and they won, then they now own a piece of land in the enemy pack’s territory. This means a sub-board will be created in the enemy pack’s territory board that belongs to your pack. But keep in mind that it is allowed for the other pack to try and win back their land at any time, using the same procedure previously explained. If they win, the sub-board will be deleted. Note: Battles don’t happen on a regular basis, so please don’t start fights often.
Applying for a High Position
These bios belong in the Auditions sub-board of the Character Creation board and will not be corrected; just read. Only the admin can accept a high-position bio. If more than one member is applying for the same position, then a roleplaying competition, where you’ll roleplay the wolf or dog from your bio, will take place with Amaranth judging. Whichever one she decides is the right person for the position will get the high rank. The requirements for the contest will be explained when necessary.
---------
1. Dominance roleplay time is the same as real-life time, but if it’s needed, we’ll speed time up. The members have the power to control the time of day in their IC posts.
2. If you’re going to put an image anywhere on the site, don’t use it if it’s copyrighted! I don’t want one of my members to get sued or have Dominance deleted. If you really must use the picture, then you have to get permission from the owner first. To find out if it’s copyrighted, look for © The Owner somewhere on the picture, or check on the web page it comes from for copyright rules. The best way to avoid getting in trouble for using a copyrighted picture is to get images from stock sites like Flickr, but even then you have to give credit to the actual owner. If you just get pictures from Google, there’s a chance that you could be using a copyrighted image without even knowing it.

Oh, and highlight the rules for the password to the Character Creation board! ^^
Amaranth will choose a punishment she believes is right for a certain violation of the rules, which can include temporary and permanent banning.
Thank you for taking the time to read these. Please get around to reading the threads in the Additional Information board too, which won’t take long.
These rules are © Amaranth, and they may not be taken or used without her direct permission.
New additions will be written in green until the rules are updated again.[/blockquote][/size]
